ROW January 1 Maintenance Update Preview

Dear Adventurers,

To provide you with a better gaming experience, the game will undergo maintenance on January 1, 2026, from 23:00 to 24:00 (UTC+8). During this period, you will be temporarily unable to log in. Please plan your gameplay accordingly.

The maintenance duration may end earlier or be extended depending on actual conditions. The final timing will be based on the in-game mail notification. After maintenance is completed, compensation rewards will be sent via in-game mail. Please remember to check your mailbox.


【Class Adjustments】

  1. Acolyte: Fixed an issue where the special skill Overheal could not apply a shield to party members.

  2. Mage: Fixed an error that occurred when viewing the Meteor Storm skill cast from another player’s perspective.

  3. Blacksmith: Fixed an issue in the Training Dummy Damage Challenge where Blacksmiths could gain an extra stack of the size-ignoring buff.

  4. Hunter: Fixed an issue in the job change instance where returning through the portal after not attacking monsters would cause the portal to disappear.


【Dungeon Adjustments】

  1. Fixed an issue where the Pirate King boss could disappear under certain conditions.

  2. Fixed an issue where the second phase of the Tiger King dungeon could still be triggered when a party member died outside the Tiger King’s circle.

  3. Fixed an issue where Tiger King would not automatically progress in Random Dungeons.

  4. Fixed an issue where Queen Bee could revive infinitely by returning to the checkpoint in Random Dungeons.

  5. Fixed an issue where players could become stuck in the Interdimensional Invasion (Stage 5) map.


【Other Adjustments】

  1. Fixed a display issue when switching from the Wardrobe to the Dream Box interface.

  2. Fixed an issue where the effects of embedded gems in enchanted equipment could be lost after reconnecting.

  3. Fixed an issue where equipment with Relic affix +1 Skill would be removed from the skill bar when loading across maps.

  4. Fixed an issue where resetting position in the Chosen War Finals Arena could pull players back during unstable network connections.

Blazing Heart Final Test Top-Up Rebate Rules (Updated Version)




Dear Adventurers,

Thank you for your continued love and support for Ragnarok Online: World Journey!
The Prontera Adventurers’ Guild has prepared generous test rewards—all top-up amounts made during the test period will be refunded as Starstones after the official launch, according to a tiered ratio.

During the “Blazing Heart Final Test,” adventurers showed incredible enthusiasm and participation, which greatly encouraged us. To better reward your support and provide a smoother experience after launch, we have adjusted the top-up rebate rules.

Below are the latest rebate rules and claim instructions:


I. Final Test Rebate Rules

➢ Rebates for the “Blazing Heart Final Test” are calculated independently.
Total top-up amounts during the test will be refunded in tiers as follows:

  1. Top-up ≤ NT$15,250

    • 300% rebate

    • NT$1 = 6 Starstones

  2. Top-up > NT$15,250 and ≤ NT$30,500 (portion)

    • 200% rebate

    • NT$1 = 4 Starstones

  3. Top-up > NT$30,500 (portion)

    • 100% rebate

    • NT$1 = 2 Starstones


II. Multi-Test Rebate Rules

If you participated in previous test phases, rebates are calculated as follows:

➢ Participated only in the “Spark Test”

Total top-ups during the Spark Test will be refunded as:

  1. Top-up ≤ NT$30,500

    • 200% rebate

    • NT$1 = 4 Starstones

  2. Top-up > NT$30,500 (portion)

    • 100% rebate

    • NT$1 = 2 Starstones


➢ Participated in both the “Spark Test” and “Dawn Test”,

or only in the “Dawn Test”

Top-up amounts from these two phases are combined and refunded as:

  1. Top-up ≤ NT$61,000

    • 200% rebate

    • NT$1 = 4 Starstones

  2. Top-up > NT$61,000 (portion)

    • 100% rebate

    • NT$1 = 2 Starstones


Rebate Calculation Examples

Example 1: Adventurer A

Participation:

  • Spark Test: NT$45,750

  • Did not join Dawn Test

  • Blazing Heart Final Test: NT$24,400

Rebate Calculation:

  • Spark Test:
    30,500 × 4 + (45,750 − 30,500) × 2 = 152,500 Starstones

  • Blazing Heart Final Test:
    15,250 × 6 + (24,400 − 15,250) × 4 = 128,100 Starstones

Total Rebate:
280,600 Starstones


Example 2: Adventurer B

Participation:

  • Spark Test: NT$45,750

  • Dawn Test: NT$30,500

  • Blazing Heart Final Test: NT$61,000

Rebate Calculation:

  • Spark + Dawn Tests:
    61,000 × 4 + (45,750 + 30,500 − 61,000) × 2 = 274,500 Starstones

  • Blazing Heart Final Test:
    15,250 × 6 + 15,250 × 4 + (61,000 − 30,500) × 2 = 213,500 Starstones

Total Rebate:
488,000 Starstones


III. Rebate Distribution Notes

  1. After the official launch, create a character within 14 days to view and claim your rebate on the rebate event page.
    (Characters created on or after Day 15 will not be eligible.)

  2. After launch, log in using the same game account or linked third-party account used during the tests to activate the rebate based on historical top-up records.
    Please keep your account information safe.

  3. Rebates can be claimed only once per account and cannot be shared across accounts or characters.
    Once one character claims the rebate, other characters on the same account will be ineligible.
    Please confirm your character selection carefully before claiming.

  4. The conversion rate between NTD and Starstones is 1:2.
    The final Starstone amount may vary due to payment currency and in-game exchange rate fluctuations.
    Please refer to the in-game rebate page for the actual amount.


IV. Test-Exclusive Rewards

In addition to top-up rebates, the Prontera Adventurers’ Guild has prepared exclusive rewards for test participants:

  1. All paid-test participants will receive exclusive titles after launch:

Ragnarok The New World 12/22 Feedback Answers

Dear Adventurers,

Since the start of the “Burning Heart Final Test”, we have been closely listening to your feedback. We sincerely thank everyone for your support and companionship with RO: World Journey. Every piece of feedback and suggestion has been received, and we have been continuously discussing how to improve and optimize the game.

This is our first FAQ, and we hope it can provide some initial responses. All of the issues listed below have been fully documented, and we promise that they will be fixed or optimized by the time the Open Beta launches.

We truly appreciate your patience and look forward to working together with you to make RO: World Journey an even better experience.

【Gameplay】

Q1: Currently, classes such as Knights and Mages feel underpowered. Players are concerned that late-game parties will be dominated by high-DPS classes like Hunters or Gunslingers. Will class balance be adjusted?

A1: Yes. We have acknowledged the current class imbalance and have arranged dedicated efforts to address it. By Open Beta, we will strengthen each class’s core identity and role to ensure that every class has irreplaceable value in the game.

Examples include:
Strengthening the Knight’s tank role, improving AGI sword DPS, and enhancing spear build mobility
Strengthening the Blacksmith’s full-support role, providing powerful debuffs and economic bonuses
Simplifying Priest gameplay, improving auto-support convenience, and fixing existing ranged-class skill bugs


Q2: There are not enough map instances, causing player overcrowding. This negatively affects melee and support classes. Will more map instances be added and monster distribution optimized?

A2: During Open Beta, we will consider adding more AFK grinding spots to improve the farming experience. We will also optimize navigation logic to better distribute player traffic and avoid overcrowding at a single location.

Q3: The 10-player dungeon opens too early, and combined with enrage timers and time limits, average players must rely on high-spending players to clear it. Will this be adjusted?

A3: We will further optimize dungeon mechanics during Open Beta to ensure a better overall experience for regular players. The original design intent of 10-player dungeons is to emphasize positioning and teamwork rather than raw stat pressure.

Q4: Too many events and dungeons are released in the first week, reducing social interaction time. Will the release pacing be adjusted?

A4: During Open Beta, we will adjust the release schedule of certain activities and moderately reduce participation frequency to ease player burden.

For example, “Land of Oblivion” will be changed to once per day, with increased rewards per run.

Q5: The current MVP system favors DPS classes. Supports and tanks cannot obtain MVP because their contributions are hard to quantify. Will this be improved?

A5: We will optimize the MVP calculation rules. After Open Beta launches, support and tank classes will also have opportunities to earn MVP.


Q6: The crafting materials for Little Devil Wings require too much effort, with low drop rates and a 2–3 month crafting cycle. Will this be optimized?

A6: During Open Beta, material output will be increased through event-based gameplay, shortening the headgear crafting cycle.

Q7: In the Flowlight event, the “Thunder Punishment” triggered by killing players does not clearly explain its duration or how to remove it. Will this be clarified?

A7: Yes. Full guidance and explanations will be added after Open Beta.

Q8: Currently, merely engaging a world MVP consumes an MVP attempt, which feels bad. Will it be changed so attempts are only consumed upon killing the MVP?

A8: We will consider adding activities that do not consume MVP attempts. After Open Beta, this is planned to be implemented in Flowlight Secret Realm.

Q9: The dungeon release order does not match actual difficulty, and the experiences with Pirate King and Queen Ant are poor. Will this be adjusted?

A9: After Open Beta, we will optimize boss mechanics and difficulty in high-difficulty dungeons.

Q10: The damage test dummy has a fixed size, putting certain builds at a disadvantage. Will this be adjusted?

A10: During Open Beta, the training dummy’s size will be corrected and optimized.

Q11: The housing mini-map does not show farmland or NPCs. Will these be added?

A11: Yes, this will be optimized by Open Beta launch.

Update Details

【Class Adjustments】

Mage Skill Optimization:

  1. Increased the damage multiplier of Fire Pillar.

  2. Reduced the casting time of Fire Bolt, Cold Bolt, and Lightning Bolt.

  3. Reduced the cooldown and casting time of Meteor Storm, Lord of Vermilion, and Storm Gust.

  4. Optimized the effects of special skills: Giant Meteor, Lightning Conduction, and Frost Attack.

※ More class skill optimizations are currently in development and will be released in future updates.


【Control & Interface Improvements】

  1. PC key optimizations: Added support for Enter to send chat, Tab to switch channels, and number key input.

  2. Removed camera auto-adjustment logic during auto-pathing or follow mode; the camera will now retain the player’s original settings.

  3. Added an option to disable skill screen-shake effects, adjustable in the Settings menu after the update.


【Bug Fixes】

  1. Fixed an issue where Endless Tower bosses had abnormal HP values.

  2. Fixed an issue where Concentration Potions and Awakening Potions did not take effect after use.

  3. Fixed an issue where rewards were incorrectly sent to oneself after gifting Monthly Cards / Privilege Cards purchased with Eden Coins
    (support for Eden Coin gifting will be further optimized in a future update).

  4. Fixed other known issues to further improve overall game stability.
